Legasea shows support for newly Launched charity.

Updated: May 16, 2022

We are delighted to support the announcement of the launch of Friends of Wood RecyclAbility, FoWR for short, a SCIO registered by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

Local Social Enterprise, Wood RecyclAbility provides a diverse range of tailored training opportunities for adults with additional support needs, working with the Circular Economy primarily processing waste wood and plastics. The charity FoWR is working to generate funding to provide more training courses as well as purchase essential equipment. By being a charity, more avenues for funding are open to FoWR than for social enterprises.

The charity is overseen by four trustees, one of which is Legasea’s own Managing Director, Lewis Sim. ‘I am honoured to be given the opportunity to be involved with a charity that helps such a prestigious local social enterprise. The work WR do to support trainees and promote environmentally friendly practices, through the Circular Economy, fits perfectly with my own personal ethos and that of Legasea. I’m excited to see how we can help them in the years to come’.The other four trustees are Gill Reavley, Sarah Whitman, and Fiona Smith.
